This would serve as an intense foundation for the practice of medical dermatology. After two years as a research fellow and a staff physician in the Emergent Care Center at the Oakland VA in Pittsburgh, Dr. Rau completed the dermatology residency program, also at the University of Pittsburgh, in 1999.
Dr. Kimberly Rau founded her own dermatology practice in 2004 in the North Hills area of Pittsburgh. The office offers medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatologic care to individuals of any age. Dr. Rau has a special interest in laser and light based therapies for conditions such as acne, psoriasis, and skin cancer. She is proud to treat all in the community regardless of type of insurance. Her philosophy parallels her father’s solo physician practice, with a focus on quality care and compassion.
Dr. Rau is board certified in Dermatology and a fellow in the American Academy of Dermatology since 2002. She is also an associate in the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery and member of both the Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania Academies of Dermatology.
